Kirk R. Wilson

Kirk has been practicing law for more than 39 years and is licensed in Texas and California. He is a Texas Board Certified Specialist in Estate Planning and Probate Law, and a California Board Certified Specialist in Probate, Estate Planning and Trust Law. Kirk has an advanced law degree in Taxation (LL.M.). He has extensive experience in estate and tax planning for individuals and families as well as the administration of decedents’ estates and trusts. Kirk enjoys working closely with clients and their professional advisors to provide knowledgeable and thoughtful legal solutions to the many challenges presented by complex family dynamics and the constantly evolving income, estate, gift, and generation-skipping transfer tax laws. He assists clients with the preparation of comprehensive estate plans to preserve and transfer family wealth in a tax-efficient manner. He also represents clients in disputed trust and estate matters.
Kirk has been awarded an "AV" Peer Review Rating by Martindale-Hubbell - the highest rating in legal ability and ethical standards.
Education: University of California at Berkeley (B.A. Rhetoric 1972), University of California Hastings College of the Law, San Francisco, CA (JD, 1977), and Golden Gate University School of Law, San Francisco, CA (LL.M., Taxation with Honors, 1998).

Kirk has served on the boards of a number of charities including CALM (Child Abuse, Listening & Mediation), Camerata Pacifica, and the Santa Barbara Planned Giving Roundtable. He has been married to his wife, Linda, for 44 years, and has three adult children. Kirk’s outside interests include travel, golf, hiking and biking.
